Boom company update - Recap: 2025 Q1
Our exclusive partnership with ManageAmerica, BoomScreen’s rapid growth, and a recap of the first quarter!
Hi folks!
Before I jump into our exciting company updates from Q1, I want to highlight a big milestone from April: the launch of our exclusive partnership with ManageAmerica! 🤝 Boom was selected as the default resident screening solution to enable ManageAmerica users to level up their resident screening for hundreds of thousands of sites.
ManageAmerica is a leading property management system purpose-built for manufactured housing. Together, our partnership powers industry-first screening capabilities for manufactured housing community owners and operators. With the BoomScreen integration, communities can move in top-quality residents faster, reduce site vacancies, and enhance the leasing experience for future residents.
Once thing to call out: While this is a ManageAmerica integration, we had a 9 month roadmap to develop enterprise-level features for the largest institutional operators. These new BoomScreen features will be beneficial to all partners beyond manufactured housing: SFR, multifamily, student housing, and more.

Progress in Q1’25
TLDR: We’ve seen exponential growth in the adoption of BoomScreen since its launch, our team is expanding to support our new partners, and we’re continuing to release new integrations and features.
Two of our biggest accomplishments I’d like to highlight:
First, we had a successful BoomScreen launch: In January, we publicly launched our latest product, BoomScreen, after building and iterating on it for ~1.5 years. Since January, we’ve seen an influx of interest in the product across multiple segments—SFR, multifamily, manufactured housing, student housing, BTR—and across all portfolio sizes. This has been a great validation of the product’s core objective: configurability that can serve the diverse needs of today’s property managers, regardless of asset type, geography, portfolio size, etc.
The product’s reception has been great, we’ve been excited to see more public, unprompted testimonials about BoomScreen. We’ve been publishing real outcomes from our BoomScreen partners in a series of case studies, check them out here: SG Communities (manufactured housing), Fllat (student housing), and Scholastic Capital (SFR).

Second, we’ve been rapidly releasing new features: Some of the releases in Q1 for BoomScreen (based on partner feedback requests) include:
Applicant chat: Partners can now chat with applicants directly through the platform
County criminal record search: BoomScreen now includes county criminal searches, in addition to national criminal record searches
Rental history verification: BoomScreen will automatically send an email and survey to an applicants’ previous landlords to verify their rental history
Some of our other accomplishments from Q1:
We brought on two new key hires in our Austin HQ → We brought on another Account Manager, Kiani Dover, to support our partners! We also brought on Atisha Patel as our Director of GTM to lead partnerships, sales operations, and sales strategy. Both of them have hit the ground running! Up next: we’re hiring another software engineer and an associate product manager (more on that below).
Carl and I had a busy Q1 on the road → From Louisville to Colorado Springs to Vegas, Carl and I got to show off the Boom platform to prospective partners and catch up with some of our awesome customers!
Our Rentvine x BoomReport integration went live! → Our Rentvine partners can now integrate directly with BoomReport to streamline rent reporting. Once activated, BoomReport will automatically pull renter data, enroll new renters, and verify monthly payments based on data from their Rentvine account.
Lastly, we had an amazing offsite in Thailand! → Boom is so lucky to have talented team members from across the world that contribute to building and growing the company and product. However, we rarely get the chance to connect in person, but that changed last quarter! In March, 22 of our team members from 10 different countries flew to Thailand for an epic week—we shipped 68 pull requests in our engineering hackathon, dressed up for an island-themed murder mystery party, and competed in our annual Boom Olympics tournament.
What else is on our mind …
As of April 1, 2025, California Assembly Bill 2747 (AB 2747) requires California property managers who own or operate at least 16 units to offer rent reporting to their renters. Due to this new regulation, we’re seeing an influx of interest in BoomReport from California property managers—we saw all-time highs for inbound demo requests! We’re leveraging our relationships with existing California partners and local associations to continue this momentum and introduce these PMs to the rest of our product suite. As we continue to rapidly expand our portfolio of partners, our Account Management team is growing in parallel. We’re in the process of optimizing our team’s workflows and tech stack to ensure they’re scalable long term and to make sure our partners are getting the best support possible.

What’s next
Additional data vendor integrations for BoomScreen → We’re working on integrating new data vendor options into the application workflow to give our partners additional configurability options.
New product manager to accelerate work on BoomReport → We’re currently onboarding a new PM to focus solely on BoomReport and implement more optimizations and features.
Continuing to onboard and build for larger partners → We’re building new features like property groups and property-level building to support partners with large portfolios as we onboard more of them.
